Design to help town centres survive

25 February 2010 09:30 – 25 February 2010 13:00

This masterclass will look at the characteristics of successful town centres and consider the lessons they can teach us.

Out of town competition and now the recession mean that our cherished town centres are finding it harder and harder to cope. But in some places they are thriving, often where the public realm is practical and appealing, where the mix of uses is exciting and where it’s easy to get to and around the centre. Masterclasses are for urban designers and built environment professionals who understand core urban design issues and practices and wish to find out about new research, exemplar schemes and design solutions others are coming up with.
