Creating cohesive communities

A one day course to inspire you to improve community cohesion and develop strategies and plans for your local area.

Part of our integrated cohesion learning package, this course follows on from our two free resources Cohesion Navigator and Understanding Cohesion.

What will I learn?
You will build a solid understanding of cohesion; explore competing definitions, the challenges faced by other practitioners and mechanisms and strategies to create more cohesive communities.

You will improve your understanding of cohesion for place-making and develop action plans to ensure cohesion is addressed as part of your local strategies.

Who is it for?
Practitioners working in and with communities including decision-makers and front-line staff from the public, private and third sector. The course will be of particular interest to professionals working in areas such as neighbourhood management, health, housing, regeneration, community development and the police.
