We manage the awards on behalf of the Homes & Communities Agency.
The scheme has been running since 2003, formerly as the Deputy Prime Minister's Award for Sustainable Communities and latterly the Creating the Future Awards. These awards celebrate the most innovative developments and community-based projects from the public, private and third sectors. They promote organisations, partnerships, individuals and initiatives helping to transform our cities, towns, villages and neigbourhoods.
The 2009 scheme was opened by Iain Wright MP during a visit to Northmoor community in Manchester, one of last year's winners. The full story is here .
